So! Your heading down to attend the 1C4X1 course. The Course is divided into
7 Blocks:
The Great PT you get to do
BLOCK I: Basic Career Knowledge 5 Days, (39.50 Hours). This section is
the foundation for further blocks. It tells you how to break out your AFSC and
the career ladder.

BLOCK II: Portable Communications Equipment 11 Days (86 Hours). This
section gives you hands on familiarization and practice with portable radios
such as the PRC-119, PRC-104 and the PRC-113

BLOCK III: Tactical Communications 8 Days, (64.50 Hours). This section
deals with communications procedures such as authentication, prowords, tactical
callsign construction and how to talk on military frequencies

BLOCK IV: Ground Environment Training 18 Days (145.50 Hours). This
section is your first field problem. You will learn bivouac setup, site
selection, patrolling methods, day and night navigation on foot and in a
vehicle.

Once you get back from Block IV, you get to look forward to The
Obstacle Course
BLOCK V: Air Support Coordination/Weapons Systems 6 Days (49.50 Hours)
This section deals with the methods and means of requesting close air support,
weapons effects and utilization and other coordination procedures.

BLOCK VI: Communications Pallet 13 Days (104.50 Hours) This section deals
with the GRC-206 Communications central. This is your hands on to the vehicle
mounted radio systems.

BLOCK VII: Close Air Support Procedures 12 Days (92.50 Hours) This
section deals with terminal strike familiarization. This is also your last field
problem that sums up everything you have learned.
