Since there seem to be a lot of misconceptions, we want to use this area to clear some of them up. As we get questions and comments, we'll post them in an effort to get the word out.

1. Are SOF TACPs just trainers?
No. Whether with the Rangers or SF, the main focus of the mission is operational. We all do some level of training with the A-Teams, Fire support, RRD, and other elements.
2. Who are the cadre for selection?
For the CEM Records board, every CEM from the CONUS ASOGs, the functional manager from ACC, and the USASOC and Ranger Regiment Superintendents. The Superintendents are there to provide mission area expertise and advice only.
3. What can an individual do to prep for selection or a SOF TACP assignment?
Selection is based on normal TACP skills, so just be up on your 1C4 skills. As for an assignment, be more than familiar with the Night, Laser, and JCAS pubs out there.
